John Schop

I’ve been working on online projects ever since I can remember. It must have started somewhere in the ‘90’s, when I taught myself HTML and CSS making small websites and PHP combined with MySQL to develop database applications. That might make me look like a dinosaur in the internet-era, but I keep up with the latest devopments in web technology.

By day, I am a controls engineer working in industrial automation.

WORK EXPERIENCE

After my education as a mechanical engineer in The Netherlands, I’ve worked as a controls engineer since 1996. I’ve worked on automation project in lots of different types of industry. In 2004 I began traveling all over the world to start-up machinery in the tire industry. Doing that for over 10 years has given me the opportunity to see lots of different cultures, and learn how things are done when resources are limited.

At the moment I use the knowledge I gathered in all those years to assist people remotely when troubleshooting machinery, and to develop software for industrial applications.

ABOUT ME

I like coffee, typewriters and skipping stones
